Getting here

The Cheia resort and Măneciu commune lie on national road DN1A, the Ploiești – Brașov road over the Bratocea pass. Approximate distances: 45 km from Ploiești, 60 km from Brașov, 105 km from Bucharest (via Ploiești, about a 2-hour drive).

By public transport: regular bus and minibus services run on the Ploiești – Măneciu – Cheia route. The nearest railway station is Măneciu, the end of the Ploiești Sud – Măneciu line.

Weather and trail conditions

The Cheia – Ciucaș area is mountain terrain: the weather changes quickly, and in winter the ridge trails require proper equipment. Before hiking, check the forecast and trail conditions and let the mountain hut or Salvamont (mountain rescue) know your route.

Parking

In the Cheia resort, parking is available in the central area and at the trailheads (Muntele Roșu hut). On busy weekends we recommend arriving early; details about designated parking areas will be published here. coming soon
